Senior Data Engineer - 100% Remote

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a 6+ month contract to hire opportunity located in Minneapolis, MN. This is a remote position with our client in the financial services industry.

Pay range: $70.00 - $85.00 per hour, W2

Summary:

This role will be working across two scrum teams that support three products: Financial/actuarial (regulatory reporting), Brand and Marketing, and Digital customer experience. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, self-driven individual who can bring industry best practices and act as a change catalyst. It is crucial for the candidate to have a thorough knowledge of end-to-end design and development in Data Engineering, including understanding data engineering workflows, data security, data quality and governance, pipeline optimization, and exception scenarios handling.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the data ingestion for products related to financial/actuarial reporting, brand/marketing, and digital customer experience.
• Translate requirements into technical solutions and implement them effectively to drive business outcomes.
• Design and develop end-to-end data pipelines with strong design principles.
• Build reusable data assets.
• Take the lead on various activities and demonstrate robust experience in data observability, data quality, and overall data governance principles.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Data Engineering with a thorough knowledge of end-to-end design and development.
• Excellent skills and hands-on experience with Databricks, DBT, DBX, SQL, and Python.
• Must have advanced SQL skills for developing data pipelines and SQL scripting.
• Cloud experience with either AWS or Azure.
• Strong team spirit and outstanding communication skills.
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder; no sponsorship is available.

Desired skills:

• Financial industry experience with wealth management, investment management (i.e., annuities), and internal finance understanding.
• Experience supporting internal finance with regulatory reporting.
