Position Summary Ensures the workflow of the clinical area and directs clinical staff according to provide excellent patient care with direction from Physicians and/or APP's. Maintains a close working relationship with physicians, APP's, CMA's and non-clinical staff. Provides direct patient care in a courteous, caring and respective manner. Documents accurately in EMR system according to licensure and VMG policy and procedures. Maintains appropriate logs and licensing for laboratory, CLIA, vaccines and medication under regulatory guidelines. Responsible for storage and inventory of all clinical supplies. Integrated Aortic Program, Cardiac Surgery The RN will support the cardiac surgery aortic aneurysm program. This role involves extensive pre- and post-operative follow-up and continuous monitoring. Responsibilities include patient education, managing disability and return-to-work forms, medication adjustments, and triaging all clinical calls before escalation to the APN. Under clinician direction, the nurse may communicate normal test results to patients and prepare for upcoming appointments by gathering external studies and chart notes. Education Completion of formal coursework that is equivalent to a BSN Degree in Nursing. Combination of equivalent years of relevant work experience and some formal education may be considered. Experience Minimum of 2 years of Cardiac nursing experience preferred. Demonstrated understanding of the operations in a medical practice environment and outpatient in a clinic or outpatient setting is preferred. Skills Current and valid New Jersey RN. Current and valid BLS certification required. Ability to use effective critical thinking skills (analytical, clinical reasoning, decision-making, problem-solving, time management, etc.). Outstanding interpersonal, service excellence behavior and customer service skills required. Strong orientation towards the provisions of high quality, cost effective and comprehensive medical care. Ability to use effective organizational and time management skills to set priorities and respond quickly to urgent/emergent situations. Strong communication both oral and written and presentation skills to convey information in a clear and concise manner to persons of varied age groups, customers and/or groups. Ability to create, maintain and support a high functioning team; establish and foster cooperative working relationships with staff and management; and function effectively as part of that team.
