As a Security Officer - Government Site Patrol PT in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government healthcare location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control during daily operations. You will be a calm, customer-focused presence for staff, patients, and visitors, communicating clearly and documenting observations. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare campus and surrounding perimeter, including clinical, administrative, parking and/or exterior areas as assigned.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit for staff, patients, visitors, vendors and/or contractors in accordance with post orders.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, unsecured doors, restricted-area concerns, loitering, trespassing and/or other unusual conditions; notify the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with visitor direction and wayfinding, including providing information about entrances, departments and/or public service areas as permitted by site policy.
  • Support staff with de-escalation by maintaining a professional presence and requesting assistance from supervisors and/or public agencies when needed.
  • Complete required activity logs, incident reports and other documentation in a timely manner according to site requirements.
  • Operate security-related equipment such as radios, access control systems, CCTV and/or ID badging tools as assigned, and report malfunctions.
  • Perform patrol checks for fire hazards, blocked egress, spills and/or other conditions that may create operational concerns, and report findings per procedure.
  • Assist with emergency response activities such as alarms, evacuations, severe weather and/or medical calls by following site procedures and directions from leadership.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, communicate clearly with diverse populations and support a respectful environment in a government healthcare location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
