Description

The Applications Architect role bridges business needs and technical execution by defining application architectures, integration patterns, and best practices to ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable systems, while also administering and supporting key business system applications, including Infor Syteline, InforOS, and other related enterprise applications. The Applications Architect will also manage SQL Server administration tasks, maintain Microsoft SharePoint security and permissions, and provide development support within the Syteline applications using .NET languages and SQL programming. The ideal candidate combines strong technical administration skills with the ability to contribute to application development and business process improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)



  • Administer and maintain business system environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and security. This includes Infor Syteline, InforOS, FactoryTrack, CPQ and EPM.
  • Perform SQL Server administration tasks, including monitoring, backups, security, and performance tuning.
  • Support Microsoft SharePoint administration, focusing on managing security, access controls, and site configuration.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Develop and maintain customizations, reports, and extensions for Syteline applications using .NET languages and SQL.
  • Partner with IT and business teams to enhance system functionality and support process automation.
  • Collaborate with third-part vendors as needed to support and maintain systems administration activities and troubleshoot issues.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and development work to ensure knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
  • Maintain compliance with IT security standards and company policies.
  • Provide architectural guidance to development teams throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize legacy systems and reduce technical debt.
  • Meet attendance requirements, and
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or Information Technology related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in application architecture, software development, or enterprise application support.
  • Hands-on experience with Infor product administration preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server administration (backups, security, tuning, queries).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint, particularly in managing security and access.
  • Experience with .NET programming languages (C#, VB.NET, etc.) and SQL development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
