Overview
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and regulatory reporting. Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to work overtime during peak periods
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepares and reviews journal entries, month-end supporting detail and financial statements. * Prepares financial reviews and reconciliations, using both standard and ad hoc reporting tools to analyze source data. * Performs monthly variance analysis, accounting and accounting balancing. * Takes a lead role in completing audit work papers. * Takes a lead role in working with other departmental staff and departmental managers to prepare budget for multiple entities and responds to questions from managers. * Complete regulatory reporting for areas assigned. * Assists with banking transactions as needed. * Analyze and process partner and departmental credit card transactions. * Monitor, analyze and report unclaimed property to appropriate states. * Analyzes financial processes and opportunities to improve system financial performance. * Understands Finance systems and is able to design reports. * Responds to questions and explains procedures to other departmental staff. * Completes special projects, pro forma financial analyses as assigned. * Assists with process improvement initiatives. * Documents processes and provides updates as needed. * Works with others across the organization to ensure procedures are adequate to ensure proper internal and external controls of financial data. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE BA in Accounting with two years' experience in accounting with a minimum of two years experience in healthcare. Bachelors or Associates Degree in related field will be considered, with five years relative experience, two of which have been in healthcare. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE CPA designation a plus, but not required ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver's License Check and or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written oral instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to think independently desired, but could be developed on the job. Ability to adhere to deadlines and switch tasks frequently as necessary. Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, directors and other departmental personnel. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should be familiar have experience with automated accounting systems and be proficient in Excel and Word, Or other spreadsheet application. Knowledge of word processing software is helpful. INFORMATION ACCESS Partner may access patient care information, financial data, human resource data and strategic and planning data needed to perform their job duties as directed by the director.
