Overview

MasTec Civil is currently hiring for a Pipe Foreman to join our team in Jacksonville, FL.

The Pipe Foreman supervises craft activities to ensure productivity and construction compliance. They oversee the assembly and installation of drainpipes of various sizes and types and collaborate with Superintendent and Project Manager to plan the sequence and schedule for pipe installation.

Responsibilities

    Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of the pipe crew.
  • Utilizes heavy equipment to excavate, install, and backfill drainage pipe.
  • Sequences pipe installation to reduce inference with other project activities and the public.
  • Continually inspects the work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns.
  • Responsible for crew safety. Establishes a safe work environment that complies with the Company safety program.
  • Observe assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions. Assures the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Analyzes job cost reports to ensure production is within budget.
  • Reviews and approves employee time reporting.
  • Maintains professional relationship with Owner.
  • The Pipe Foreman must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
  • Can read and Interpret plans and understands the specifications
  • Verifying dimensions, measurements, cutting, and pipe preparation for welding
  • Submitting daily progress reports and time sheets


Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with crew members.
  • Ability to think logically about the work at hand and compare site conditions with project designs.
  • Ability to read blueprints and other project-related documents.
  • Ability to use email, smartphone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents.
  • Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance standards per the employee handbook.
  • Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
  • 1-year construction related experience (roads, highways, bridges, etc.)
  • Completion of High School or secondary education is preferred.
