Job Description




As a Security Officer - Refinery Roving Patrol in Olive Branch, MS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents. You will observe and report unusual activity, support access and visitor processes, and provide strong customer service through clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, access control issues, medical situations, and environmental or process-area concerns as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, production-adjacent areas, tank farms and/or loading areas, parking lots, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Control entry and exit at designated access points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing traffic flow in accordance with site procedures.
  • Monitor and document activity using CCTV, access control systems, radios, and other site technology; report irregular conditions and/or equipment issues to the appropriate parties.
  • Complete detailed written reports and daily activity logs, including incident reports, patrol observations, and maintenance or hazard notifications per site requirements.
  • Coordinate with site contacts and emergency services when requested, providing clear information, directions to incident locations, and documentation of actions taken.
  • Support key control, badge control, and restricted-area protocols as assigned, assisting with accountability measures for sensitive areas and materials.
  • Perform package, vehicle, and/or credential checks when authorized, following site procedures and respecting privacy and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a professional presence, provide directions and assistance, and help to deter unwanted activity through high visibility and consistent adherence to post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 6 months of security experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
