Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Petrochemical Access Driver in Freeport, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a chemical and/or petrochemical location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, and support visitor and employee check-in with clear, professional communication. You will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents while delivering strong customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to the client by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing and retrieving visitor credentials, and directing authorized personnel, contractors, and guests according to site requirements.
  • Screen and process visitors, deliveries, and contractors by confirming appointments, required authorizations, and destination information, and notifying site contacts as needed.
  • Monitor access control systems, alarms, and gate equipment, and report irregular conditions to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports for arrivals and departures, vehicle entries, key control activities, and incident-related documentation.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and supporting on-site response teams as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, and/or policy violations.
  • Support traffic and vehicle flow at gates and checkpoints, including directing commercial vehicles to designated staging areas and verifying shipping and receiving documentation when required.
  • Participate in drills, briefings, and shift turnovers, and communicate post updates, procedural changes, and observed concerns to incoming personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least 1+ years of security experience is required.
  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
