Controls Engineer

Design, program, and maintain the manufacturing, data acquisition and equipment control systems located within the plant.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

1. Develop and maintain the plants manufacturing control and data acquisition networks. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems as required.
2. Develop and integrate operator interfaces between manufacturing networks and users.
3. Develop and implement network system reports.
4. Specify and facilitate the implementation of programmable logic controllers within the plants equipment overhaul and Modernization program.
5. Document, upgrade and troubleshoot equipment programmable logic controllers and AC/DC drives.
6. Revise equipment programs as necessary to support manufacturing process improvements.
7. Schedule the planned maintenance of all manufacturing networks.
8. Train designated personnel in the operation and maintenance of programmable logic controllers and manufacturing networks.
9. Prepare appropriation requests for the specification and purchase of new equipment and systems.
10. *Prepare IATF 16949 compliant instructions and work methods.
11. Performs other duties as directed.
12. Position has the responsibility and authority for quality commensurate with the accountability of the job description.
13. Function as the liaison with manufacturing engineering on all equipment control and motion issues.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Associates degree in technical related field or high school diploma with required experience.
