Position Title: Production Operator - Encapsulation
Wage: $19.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 5:00am - 3:00pm (Monday - Thursday) Join the client company in Wausau, WI as a Production Operator in the encapsulation department, where you'll work a consistent first-shift schedule, operate and maintain critical production equipment, and help deliver high-quality products in a regulated manufacturing environment. Production Operator Responsibilities: - Set up, operate, adjust, clean and sanitize equipment to produce products that meet quality standards and established procedures - Measure and mix raw materials according to batch production recipes and formulations - Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment - Assist other team members in trained areas based on production needs or supervisor direction - Print and apply product labels - Verify lot and batch numbers - Maintain accurate production records and equipment logs - Assist in the development and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) - Follow workplace safety and sanitization protocols to ensure safe equipment operation at all times - Participate in safety training and promptly report incidents or hazards - Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles - Comply with Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) requirements in applicable environments - Maintain required PAPR certification and ensure proper use and care of all personal protective equipment (PPE) - Collect samples for quality control (QC) testing as required - Adhere to religious dietary law guidelines, including Kosher and Halal standards Requirements for Production Operator: - High School Diploma or GED; prior production or manufacturing experience preferred - Effective communication skills to coordinate with coworkers regarding production status - Basic computer skills; ERP system experience (SAP preferred) - Ability to read, write, and speak English - Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts, including metric weight and volume conversions - Ability to read and follow a production journal to complete batch production - Ability to operate a pallet walker and/or forklift preferred - Ability to use basic hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and wrenches wausau@qpsemployment.com IND050 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
