The Opportunity

The Sales Operations Analyst supports data-driven decision-making across the sales organization by delivering accurate reporting, actionable insights, and operational analytics. This role focuses on building and maintaining dashboards, analyzing sales performance, supporting forecasting and planning activities, and ensuring data quality across systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytically strong professional who is eager to grow technical and business expertise while contributing to enterprise-level sales and business initiatives. Experience or interest in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry is strongly preferred.

This position reports to the Associate Director of Sales Operations.

What You'll Do

Sales Data Analysis & Reporting



  • Develop, maintain, and enhance recurring dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Analyze sales performance metrics, including pipeline, bookings (orders), backlog, revenue, win rates, and sales velocity.
  • Produce standardized and ad hoc reports to support sales leadership, sector leaders, and operations teams.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all deliverables.


Dashboard Development & Data Visualization



  • Create clear and intuitive visualizations that translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Support leadership presentations by preparing charts, summaries, and key takeaways.
  • Partner with the Senior Sales Operations Analyst to enhance enterprise dashboards and analytics frameworks.


Sales Forecasting & Planning Support



  • Assist with sales forecasting, territory planning, sales analysis, and pipeline reviews.
  • Validate forecast inputs, identify risks and gaps, and flag anomalies in performance trends.
  • Support scenario modeling and what-if analyses under senior analyst guidance.


CRM & Data Management



  • Validate the report extracted data within Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.
  • Monitor data hygiene, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards.
  • Support data integration efforts between CRM, BI tools, and enterprise data sources.


Incentive & Program Analytics



  • Support reporting for sales incentive and compensation programs.
  • Provide analytical support for sales programs and operational initiatives.


Market & Client Analysis



  • Analyze client, sector, and market-level data to identify trends and growth opportunities.
  • Support the development of client-level reporting, including top accounts and sector performance.
  • Assist in compiling competitive and market intelligence summaries.


Process Improvement & Automation



  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Support automation initiatives using Power BI, Excel, and data transformation tools.
  • Document reporting logic, definitions, and processes to improve scalability and knowledge sharing.


Cross-Functional Collaboration



  • Partner with Sales/LifeLine Sectors, Finance, Marketing, and Business Applications teams on reporting needs.
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests and support cross-functional projects as assigned.
  • Learn from and collaborate closely with senior analytics and Sales Operations Leadership.


Success Metrics



  • Adherence to documented reporting processes, governance standards, and SLAs with 95% compliance.
  • Accurate execution of assigned BAU reporting tasks with 98% data accuracy.
  • On-time delivery of assigned recurring reports and dashboard updates (95% on-time).
  • Successful migration of legacy or one-off reports into standardized primary reports under senior guidance.
  • Compliance with enterprise reporting standards.
  • Positive internal user feedback on the clarity and usability of analyst-produced outputs.
  • Growing proficiency in analytical tools, models, and methods used by the team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of sales and pipeline metrics.



What We Expect from You

Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales operations, business analytics, reporting, or a related analytical role.


Technical Skills



  • Proficiency in:


    • Power BI (dashboard creation)
    • Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM or similar CRM platforms
    • Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)


  • Working knowledge of SQL or data querying tools preferred.
  • Exposure to Python, R, or other analytics tools is a plus.


Industry Knowledge



  • Experience in or exposure to the AEC industry is preferred in relation to


    • Project-based sales cycles (multi-state pursuits, go/no-go decision tracking, revenue forecasting tied to project awards, not immediate work),
    • Sector specific backlog,
    • Weighted vs unweighted revenue,
    • Resource allocation for projects, etc.


  • Understanding of professional services sales models, pipelines, backlog, and revenue forecasting is a plus.

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $91,100 - $123,200
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job-specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
