Job Description

AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for providing technical repair and support to the various machinery found in the production areas and the equipment that is found within the building and systems.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting the design, programming, assembly, installation, and support of automation projects throughout Amcor Plastics Corporation. Ideal candidate will have strong background in automation and mechanical hands-on experience. This person will be the project technical lead and may be responsible for some project management activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist with building and programming on new and rebuilt equipment.

* Follow mechanical and electrical prints

* Trouble shoot mechanical and electrical equipment

* Responsible for adherence to all company, industry, and regulatory procedures

* Responsible for participating in post project review

* Maintain and enforce all company safety, environment and Department of Health requirements

Qualifications:

* Two year degree in automation, manufacturing, or proven hands on control experience.

* Proven experience in PLC logic and programming and development of HMIs.

* Knowledge of Set up and communications of ACdrives preferred

* Good Mechanical aptitude.

* Ability and desire to learn new technologies.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

Additional Skills:

* Robotic experience

* Vision system Experience

* Pneumatics experience

* Servo Experience
