The HVAC Mechanic plans and implements maintenance, repair, and installation of all HVAC systems for the Hospital. Work requires communication outside the work group to resolve problems and collaborate on work procedures while maintaining satisfaction and service with internal contacts. External communication is for ongoing service and providing detailed information about a selected service or capability.

Hours: Full time (40 hours), Day Shift, Weekdays

Location: Howard County General Hospital, Columbia, MD 21044

Requirements/Qualifications:



  • High school diploma, high school equivalency diploma, or trade/ vocational school diploma is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience as a HVAC mechanic in a commercial/industrial setting.
  • CFC Certification (Section 608 Type I and II) required.
  • Journeyman HVAC License required. If hired without HVAC License, must be obtained within the first year of employment

Salary Range: Minimum 26.12/hour - Maximum 43.11/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
