Location: Moody Outpatient Center
Primary Purpose
Administer the compensation system of the organization to include maintenance of organizations pay and job structure. Responsible for conducting job documentation and analysis, performing market analysis and aligning jobs within the organizations pay structure, and coordinating the performance management program. Consults with organizational leadership in the appropriate facilitation of the organizations compensation philosophy within their respective departments in order to attract, retain, and motivate talent.
Minimum Specifications
Education
- Bachelors degree in business administration, human resource management, finance, or related field preferred.
Experience
- At least one (1) year of experience working within Human Resources required.
- At least one (1) year of experience working within Compensation preferred.
- Applicable experience within the healthcare industry is preferred.
Certification/Registration/Licensure
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) through WorldatWork is preferred.
Skills or Special Abilities
- General knowledge of compensation theory and techniques.
- General knowledge of state and federal laws which govern pay (i.e., FLSA, DOL, and IRS).
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully interact with various personality types at all levels within the organization.
- Ability to analyze simple to moderately complex data using Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Ability to maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of trends and regulatory changes impacting pay.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market analysis and recommend grade and/or compensation structure changes to ensure market competitiveness and adherence to the organizations compensation philosophy and standards.
- Develop, maintain and amend job descriptions to ensure jobs are documented and in compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory and organizational policy requirements.
- Assist with the performance appraisal process and annual merit process.
- Maintain job and market information in database form; run reports and conduct analysis in accordance with procedure, as necessary, or as requested; ensure data utilized and reported is accurate and timely.
- Complete and acquire third party compensation surveys.
- Assist in the development of compensation policies and procedures and interprets their use for others to ensure organizational compliance.
- Seek to improve processes and customer satisfaction; make recommendations to supervisor in support of the overall goal and mission of the organization.
- Provide consultation to employees and management regarding various compensation issues; ensure employees understand basic compensation principles as needed, and management is knowledgeable of basic compensation/pay rules and methodologies; ensure management has the tools and understanding to manage and understand pay within their departments.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledgebase of the latest developments, advancements and trends in compensation/reward management; Integrate knowledge gained into current work practices.
- Collect and analyze simple to moderately complex data, summarize and compile data, and coordinate completion of special projects as required to support the overall effectiveness of the department.
- Maintain confidentiality of all Human Resources information as appropriate.
Job Accountabilities
- Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.
- Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
