Job Function

The Finance Operations Intern will be responsible for capturing and providing analysis for network expenses, including Type II, colocation/data centers, and other network costs. The candidate will also work closely with the network access director to assist with budget and forecasting. This position will provide broad exposure on business decision making, finance and contract negotiation, and data analytics. The successful candidate will quickly become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) with our off-net and data center expenses, and play a key role in sales enablement, revenue optimization, and cost efficiency for Lightpath.

Responsibilities

* Ownership of Vendor Orders & Network Expenses: Responsible for the full lifecycle of vendor orders and expenses within Salesforce. Supporting Lightpath installs and disconnects while maintaining record integrity.

* Contracts: Review business terms on new MSA's, fiber and other vendor-related agreements and orders to ensure there are no risks for Lightpath.

* Vendor Onboarding: Work with vendors to fill in appropriate forms and submit tickets with internal departments for enrollment into our financial system for remittance.

* Credit Requests: Track and request credits for outages impacting type II circuits, review contractual SLA's

* Data Integrity and Expense Management: Ensure accuracy in Salesforce and Netcracker records for both Direct and OpEx expenses, including the validation of vendor orders and cost allocations.

* Expense Metrics Reporting: Own the tracking and reporting of Type II operating and network expense metrics, delivering accurate insights to stakeholders.

* Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed to support business initiatives, cost reduction efforts, and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

* Eligible candidates should be entering their senior year of an undergraduate program or be recent graduates of an undergraduate or master's program.

* Candidates must be local to one of our office locations. Bethpage NY, NYC, Golden CO, Wakefield MA, White Plains NY.

* Education: Bachelor's degree in progress aligned preferably in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

* Excellent time management and ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

* High level of professional integrity and ethical standards in business practices.

* Strong problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset.

* Proactive, organized, and demonstrate a high level of self-motivation.

* Prioritizes tasks based on immediate and evolving priority.

* Works closely with the manager to maintain high quality standards.

* Able to review financial reporting to determine variances.

* Strong Excel knowledge and experience with dashboards and complex formulas.

* Familiarity with telecom technologies, architecture, and products is a plus.

Pay ranges are supplied in compliance with Colorado law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience.
