Job Description

Position Summary
The Maintenance Planner/Technician is responsible for the productivity and work quality of the maintenance department. This role acts as the bridge between the storeroom and the floor, ensuring that all work orders are scoped, parts are verified, and schedules are optimized. When not engaged in planning duties, this individual provides high-level technical support for complex repairs and capital projects.



Pay rate: $35-$40/hr


Shift: 1st - Shift 5am - 3:05pm M- F



Key Responsibilities


1. Planning & Scheduling (60%)
* Work Order Management: Review, prioritize, and schedule all incoming work orders within the CMMS.
* Job Scoping: Visit the "job site" on the plant floor to determine required tools, manpower, and safety requirements (LOTO, permits) before assigning the task.
* Kitting Coordination: Work closely with the Storeroom Clerk to ensure all parts are staged and "kitted" in advance of scheduled PMs or repairs.
* PM Optimization: Analyze Preventative Maintenance (PM) data to adjust frequencies and tasks, moving the team from reactive to proactive maintenance.


2. Technical Execution (40%)
* Technical Support: Act as a "Lead Tech" for complex mechanical or electrical troubleshooting that requires advanced diagnostic skills.
* Emergency Response: Provide hands-on assistance during major equipment failures or plant shutdowns.
* Contractor Management: Oversee outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is performed safely and to Sealed Air standards.

Qualifications

* Experience: Minimum 5 years in industrial maintenance (food packaging or high-speed manufacturing preferred).
* Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in mechanical systems, pneumatics, and basic electrical/PLC troubleshooting.
* Software: Prior experience with a CMMS (SAP, Maximo, or similar) is required. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with both floor technicians and plant leadership.
* Analytical Mindset: Able to look at a machine's history and identify the "root cause" of recurring failures.
