Silgan Closures is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee operations at our Evansville, IN, manufacturing facility, which produces plastic dispensing and specialty closure systems for food, beverage, and consumer goods companies. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position provides leadership to Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Finance.
The Plant Manager is responsible for coordinating all manufacturing, financial, and operational functions to meet plant objectives in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people (SQDCP). This includes setting direction, supporting capability development, and promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
The Evansville plant manufactures plastic and composite dispensing closures designed for reliable sealing, controlled dispensing, and product protection. These products support a wide range of applications for brands focused on safety, shelf life, and package performance.
What You Will Do as a Plant Manager
* Oversee plant operations across production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, human resources, and finance to meet safety, product quality, delivery, and cost goals.* Promote and maintain a safe work environment in alignment with Silgan safety policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.* Support the development and implementation of manufacturing strategies that improve operational effectiveness.* Manage plant budgets, cost controls, and continuous improvement programs to help achieve financial and operational targets.* Establish clear expectations, provide constructive feedback, and support the development of teams.* Partner with quality, procurement, and engineering to ensure materials and processes meet customer requirements.* Encourage teamwork through open communication and inclusive leadership practices.* Ensure food safety and product quality systems are consistently followed.* Participate in additional duties or projects as assigned by Operations leadership.
What You Bring
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.* Minimum of ten years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.* Experience with financial oversight, including P and L management.* Ability to guide teams, support decisionmaking, and promote a collaborative work environment.* Experience with union environments and labor relations is helpful but not required.* Ability to communicate effectively and support problem solving efforts.* Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
