Job Description - Enterprise Program Manager, Strategic Change

Position Description & Responsibilities

The Strategic Change Program Manager is responsible for the successful management, planning and reporting of a program of interrelated initiatives or projects that support the Strategic Change Office (SCO) and the Enterprise Change Agenda (ECA). This role engages collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders to articulate the goals and objectives of the program and to facilitate the development and execution of the initiatives that support strategic change and realize enterprise value. The Program Manager reports to the Manager, Enterprise Change and works within the SCO, collaborating with the Director, Strategic Change Office and key stakeholders across UNS. The Program Manager also works closely with business area Project Managers overseeing and delivering individual projects within the strategic change portfolio.

This position plays a key role in ensuring initiatives achieve stated objectives on time and on budget. With limited supervision, the Program Manager collaborates with and supports strategic project teams to execute business results. The Program Manager is a trusted advisor, working collaboratively with Senior Management and their staff to implement the work of strategic change.

Position-Related Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute enterprise wide, cross-functional strategic programs that are of moderate to high risk and complexity providing coordination of multiple projects in a program.
  • Oversee and coordinate the integration, pacing, and sequencing of transformational initiatives to avoid conflicts and maximize impact (Air Traffic Control function).
  • Support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the Enterprise Change Agenda (ECA) process, including project selection, prioritization, launch, and monitoring.
  • Facilitate the use of Conscious Change Leadership processes into project plans. Ensure compliance with enterprise governance and change leadership processes. Convene meetings and plan agendas to ensure key risks and issues are raised, mitigated and resolved.
  • Participate in the planning of program related initiatives and projects, utilizing established project management methodologies.
  • Develop and execute the strategy for managing a portfolio of projects across a multi-year period.
  • Establish service level and project expectations with Senior Management.
  • Report on program and enterprise progress, track attainment of milestones, resourcing and budget expenditures as needed to stakeholders. Track and report on program KPIs to track progress and quantify results.
  • Engage closely with key stakeholders in business areas and project management teams to provide transparency and advisory on emerging trends, risks and issues.
  • Actively promote alignment and compliance with related programs and projects across the enterprise.
  • Proactively conduct business review meetings for reprioritization of resources as needed.
  • Support the implementation and use of Change Playbooks, working with EPD and program/project managers across the organization.
  • Learn, model, and integrate Conscious Change Leadership principles in all aspects of program and project management.
  • Serve as a role model for change leadership, coaching and supporting others to build change capability and leadership effectiveness.
  • This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
(Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.)

  • Prefer minimum of 7 years' experience as a Program Manager or Project Manager
  • Bachelor's degree and extensive working knowledge of the PMI PMBOK.
  • Proven track record in driving the execution of program and project management lifecycle activities, such as contract execution, schedules, benefit management, risks and issues tracking and mitigation, dependency management, testing, deployment, and reporting.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, the ability to lead and influence in a collaborative fashion, coach and mentor team members.
  • Experience in enterprise-level change management and organizational transformation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Collect, analyze and synthesize information in support of Senior Management and Stakeholders.
  • Design and manage the implementation of programs that meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Support decisions with technical knowledge and economic analysis.
  • Articulate differing positions in a constructive manner.
  • Interact with senior executives conveying credibility, confidence and integrity.
  • Remains calm and productive in stressful situations.
  • Proficiency with key MS products (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

Pay Rate: Salary determined based on candidates experience and qualifications.
