About This Role


The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of the company's equipment and facilities by effectively managing a team of multi-craft technicians, planners, and administration personnel in the implementation and execution of maintenance programs and strategies.


Core competencies include maintaining equipment records, developing maintenance strategies, determining parts inventory requirements, maintaining the MRO budget in compliance with purchasing procedures, and performance of any other related work when necessary.


This position reports directly to the Plant Engineering Manager and works in tandem with the Utilities Manager, Wastewater Manager, and Reliability Engineering Manager to maintain all Daisy Brand Wooster assets. All work directed by the Maintenance Manager will ensure compliance with food quality, food safety and OSHA safety regulations.


What You'll Be Responsible For




  • Manage a plant maintenance team consisting of planners, parts room coordinators, and multi-craft maintenance technicians in the planning and execution of machine and system maintenance activities.





  • Develop and implement machine, process system, and building maintenance strategies to increase equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs.





  • Collaborate with plant leadership and operations teams to identify and prioritize maintenance opportunities.





  • Conduct root cause analysis and failure mode investigations to identify and resolve equipment and production system reliability issues.





  • Collaborate with the Maintenance and Engineering Management team to develop and maintain preventative maintenance procedures and schedules to improve equipment reliability.





  • Develop and maintain accurate equipment reliability metrics to track and measure progress, performance, and sustainability of improvements.





  • Provide technical expertise to the maintenance technicians to quickly resolve downtime events and reliability issues.





  • Develop training, progression strategies, and curriculum for maintenance technician professional development.





  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program that meets the needs of the business and ensures optimal equipment performance.





  • Maintain and improve existing PM/PdM programs to maximize equipment uptime and reduce unplanned downtime.





  • Utilize CMMS and data analysis tools to support maintenance operations and ensure accurate tracking of equipment performance and maintenance history.





  • Manage the maintenance team to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and to the highest standard possible.





  • Develop and manage maintenance/MRO budgets, including planning, parts inventory strategy, and scheduling of maintenance activities.





  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines and promote a safety culture among maintenance staff.





  • Determine requirements for spare parts, supplies, and materials inventory.





  • Observe and enforce OSHA safety regulations by providing training in proper and safe operating procedures and methods for assigned personnel.





  • Assist in developing written manuals and instructions; instruct staff in new operating procedures and methods; assist in creating training instruction manuals in assigned areas of responsibility.





  • Respond to emergency situations as required, including instances that occur outside of normal working hours.




What We're Looking For


Required Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Reliability Engineering, a related field, or 10+ years of equivalent maintenance management experience in an automated industrial setting.





  • 5+ years experience with industrial controls programming and/or troubleshooting (Allen Bradley/Rockwell preferred)

  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and failure mode investigations to identify and resolve equipment reliability issues.





  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.





  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to identify and implement solutions.





  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including advanced knowledge of Excel functionality for developing reports, interpreting data, and presenting findings.





  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team of up to 30 multi-craft technicians, salaried planners, and salaried parts room coordinators.
