Position Title: Valet Attendant

Reports To: Valet Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

OVERALL DESCRIPTION OF JOB SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Valet Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by safely parking and retrieving guests' vehicles in a timely and professional manner. The Valet Attendant will also assist guests with loading, unloading, and handling luggage to ensure a streamlined arrival and departure experience.

RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports to the Valet Supervisor, retains relationships with peers and all other departments within the company, maintains relationships with current and prospective residents, and maintains relationships with suppliers, vendors, and others serving the Company or the property.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet guests promptly with a warm and friendly demeanor upon arrival and departure.

  • Provide guests with clear valet instructions, including accurate retrieval times, billing details, accurate wait times, and safety information.

  • Inspect all vehicles for pre-existing damage and document any findings.

  • Park and retrieve guest vehicles while adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.

  • Maintain an organized and efficient valet area to ensure smooth operations.

  • Store keys securely with a unique identifier, avoiding the use of license plate numbers.

  • Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage as needed.

  • Provide directions, information, and recommendations about the hotel and local attractions.

  • Keep track of valet tickets and vehicle locations to prevent delays and mix-ups.

  • Inspect vehicles for existing damage and document any findings before parking.

  • Maintain cleanliness of valet stand and surrounding areas.

  • Follow all hotel policies and procedures, including security protocols.

  • Report any incidents or damage to Valet Supervisor immediately.

  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience as a valet, parking attendant, or in customer service role is preferred.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and have a motor vehicle record that meets the standards of insurability set by the insurance carrier.

  • Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and efficiency.
