Latitude Cor We are looking for a3rd Shift Production Supervisor to join our 100% EMPLOYEE-OWNED team. Position Summary The 3rd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day production operations, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives are met. During the initial training period on 1st shift, the supervisor will work closely with leadership to gain a comprehensive understanding of operations and play an active role in hiring and training the 3rd shift team before transitioning fully to nights. Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe work environment and eliminate hazardous conditions
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, statutory, and regulatory requirements
- Meet production schedules and deadlines using the Master Production Schedule
- Supervise, train, evaluate, and develop production employees
- Assist Production Manager with performance evaluations, wage recommendations, and disciplinary actions
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, workstation assignments, and workflow
- Support quality standards, continuous improvement initiatives, and the Quality Management System
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and process issues (tooling, drawings, process failures)
- Maintain accurate inventory control and monthly inventory counts
- Oversee department supplies, materials, and tooling requirements
- Ensure cross-training to maintain flexibility and redundancy
- Maintain clean, organized work areas
- Communicate effectively across departments and shifts
- Operate company forklifts w/proper training
- Assist in ensuring adequate supervision during weekends or non-traditional workdays as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering, or related field OR
- 5+ years of metal fabrication shop experience
- 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to multitask with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience supervising two or more departments
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience using ERP systems for production, costing, inventory control, and purchasing (Epicor preferred).
- Experience with ISO standards
- Understanding of OSHA and environmental requirements
