English & Technical Communication
Job Description
This role essentially runs all functions of the English & Technical Communications Office by performing these key responsibilities:
- Performing payroll functions including faculty overloads or summer pay
- Overseeing accounts, spending and expenses
- Performing PeopleSoft functions (e.g., entering/hiring graduate students as GAs or GTAs)
- Assisting the department chair in hiring adjuncts or continuing faculty
- Purchasing office supplies and dealing with venders or other offices on campus such as IT (purchasing computers), the Registrar, Physical Facilities (keys)
- Working with other administrative units, particularly the College of Arts, Science and Education (CASE) Dean's Office
- Hiring and supervising student workers
- Assisting the department chair with social/professional functions of the department such as ordering food for picnics or banquets, reserving rooms, paying invited speakers or guests
- Maintain and update department documents and records
Minimum Qualifications
An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PeopleSoft, Joe'SS, Microsoft Office, Outlook, or similar software
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $18.50-$20.00 hourly. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. The University of Missouri provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your bottom line.
