General Objective(s):


Oversee the functions related to the proper storage and safe delivery of our furniture to our customers.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Manage the receiving, storing, and loading of all products by warehouse workers in accordance with company procedures.
  • Monitor Storis receiving practices to ensure that procedures are followed and that all products can be accounted on each Bill of Lading or Packing slip. All Storis receiving batches are to be updated and closed out after each inbound trailer is completed. All products must be correctly labelled and in the correct inventory location in Storis, using a Radio Frequency scanner.
  • Provide for inspection of incoming and outgoing merchandise against order and delivery paperwork and specifications.
  • Ensure accurate transfer of inventory, samples, and supplies to the Design Center(s) for accurate inventory tracking.
  • Inspect returned items for condition and determine disposition and update inventory status in Storis. Follow through with training when appropriate with furniture prep specialist or design consultant as it relates to point-of-sale issues.
  • Ensure that all warehouse employees comply with all company security and safety regulations. Ensure workers are applying proper handling procedures during the unloading and storage of all freight received.
  • Conduct quarterly trainings to ensure delivery contractors are properly educated on Ethan Allen product assembly, to ensure our products are properly delivered to and assembled in the customer's home.
  • Complete Virtual Daily folders in accordance with Audit requirements
  • Ensure that invoices have the correct rates and delivery dates on all merchandise as contractually agreed upon and posted in Storis.
  • Accrue delivery charges and expenses pertaining to the maintenance of the facility to ensure accurate monthly P&L's.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and clean work environment for associates and vendors through monthly inspections and required yearly trainings.
  • Conduct Quarterly cycle counts in conjunction with the operations manager and inventory control specialist according to corporate procedures. Report all discrepancies to Operations Logistics Leaders, VP, Retail Operations & Logistics and Retail Accounting as needed.
  • Participate in and reconcile all physical inventories to ensure completion within 48 hours of initial scan.
  • Establish procedures to keep the Design Center(s) informed of any delivery issues.
  • Provide training and guidance to all associates on critical job functions and safety practices.
  • Maintain work schedules and resource allocation to ensure Service Center productivity and payroll expense are aligned.
  • Evaluate performance of all warehouse personnel, issue verbal, and written warnings when appropriate, execute discharge of warehouse associates when necessary. Complete performance appraisals in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform any other duties as required.



Work Relations:



  • Direct Supervision: Assistant Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Workers, Furniture Prep Specialists, Warehouse Supervisor, Delivery Specialist and Delivery Assistant
  • Indirect Supervision: Outside delivery service (if applicable) for functional guidance



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • High school or equivalent. Associates degree a plus.
  • Minimum of five years prior experience in furniture warehouse or distribution management.
  • Excellent management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Understanding of how to access data through a computer terminal.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Some travel to stores may be required.
  • Weekend work required.
