Founded in 1977 as the Senior Care Action Network, SCAN began with a simple but radical idea: that older adults deserve to stay healthy and independent. That belief was championed by a group of community activists we still honor today as the "12 Angry Seniors." Their mission continues to guide everything we do. Today, SCAN is a nonprofit health organization serving more than 500,000 people across Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Washington, with over $8 billion in annual revenue. With nearly five decades of experience, we have built a distinctive, values-driven platform dedicated to improving care for older adults. Our work spans Medicare Advantage, fully integrated care models, primary care, care for the most medically and socially complex populations, and next-generation care delivery models. Across all of this, we are united by a shared commitment: combining compassion with discipline, innovation with stewardship, and growth with integrity. At SCAN, we believe scale should strengthen-not dilute-our mission. We are building the future of care for older adults, grounded in purpose, accountability, and respect for the people and communities we serve. SCAN Group is seeking an inspirational, visionary, and operationally rigorous Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to serve as the enterprise's senior clinical leader and steward of its clinical culture. Reporting to the President of SCAN Health Plan and serving as a key member of the executive leadership team, the CMO will have group-wide responsibility for clinical strategy, medical policy, medical management, quality, and clinical performance across all SCAN Group businesses with a distinct focus on operational excellence and performance of SCAN Health Plan. This leader will be responsible not only for what care is delivered, but how care is designed, scaled, governed, and continuously improved-ensuring that SCAN's diverse care models operate with shared principles, disciplined execution, and a relentless focus on member and patient outcomes. The ideal candidate is a nationally credible physician-executive who combines: * Deep Medicare and value-based care expertise * A track record of leading complex clinical organizations * The ability to serve as the clinical "soul" of an organization, inspiring physicians and care teams to think differently about aging, vulnerability, and care delivery Enterprise Scope and Accountability The Chief Medical Officer will provide enterprise clinical leadership and oversight across: * SCAN Health Plan: medical policy, utilization management, quality strategy, Stars performance, population health, and regulatory compliance * Healthcare in Action: clinical model evolution for complex, underserved populations * HomeBase Medical: home-based care, advanced illness, and longitudinal primary care strategies * MyPlace Health (PACE): fully integrated, capitated care delivery for dual-eligible seniors * Welcome Health: physician-led, technology-enabled care models and clinical innovation * Embrace: nursing-home based clinical care for frail and vulnerable seniors The CMO will ensure clinical coherence across these models, while respecting the unique needs of each population and operating environment.
