Assists with the development and implementation of special events. Facilitates production of events by communicating with vendors, guests, internal staff and customers.

About the Department and/or College

The Texas Tech University Office of Alumni Engagement, also known as the Texas Tech Alumni Association (TTAA), connects former students to the university and to one another through a membership-based network that supports the university, builds relationships and fosters growth. The department is responsible for generating memberships, which allow for opportunities to connect with former students through events, programs, and chapters. Following its transition to become part of the university in 2025, the department's mission remains unchanged: We exist to connect, inspire and love our Red Raider Family.

Major/Essential Functions


  1. Strengthen alumni chapters by supporting leadership recruitment, volunteer engagement, and sustainable growth strategies.
  2. Implement chapter operations and programming that align with the department's mission and strategic objectives.
  3. Actively promote membership through outreach and relationship building with regional alumni.
  4. Serve as primary liaison between Alumni Engagement and local chapters to foster communication and collaboration.
  5. Plan and execute chapter events tailored to regional alumni interests.
  6. Represent Alumni Engagement at meetings and events, providing updates and ensuring high quality alumni experiences.
  7. Collaborate with TTU Admissions to support student recruitment efforts through alumni involvement.
  8. Encourage chapter-led scholarship fundraising efforts in coordination with Alumni Engagement advancement priorities.
  9. Support strategic initiatives such as leadership training, volunteer onboarding, and community outreach.
  10. Assist in the implementation of chapter governance policies and operational best practices.
  11. Maintain communication with chapter leaders and stakeholders through regular touchpoints.
  12. Work with the Senior Director for Chapter Development and Alumni Engagement to plan, coordinate, and execute the Alumni Cup and Red Raider at Ruidoso Downs events.
  13. Other duties as assigned or needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus one year related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience equal to five years.

Preferred Qualifications


  1. Professional experience in event planning, alumni relations, university advancement or a related area to include volunteer management preferably in a higher education setting.
  2. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Pay Statement

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.

Schedule Details

This position is based in Lubbock, but will support the chapters in the Dallas - Fort Worth, Texas area. Travel is required to attend events.
