Manager, Corporate Development
Summary
Reporting to the VP of Corporate Development and Capital Markets, the Manager, Corporate Development will be a key member of Enerflex's Corporate Finance and Corporate Development team. The team is responsible for Enerflex's efforts on a global basis, including joint ventures, divestitures, and leads the financial aspects of major project development opportunities in our Asset Ownership business line.
The team advises the company's Executive Management Team and Board of Directors on short-term and long-term considerations of corporate finance initiatives while also working closely with each Regional President and business teams to provide due diligence, structuring, and deal execution support. Lastly, the Corporate Development team works closely with Strategy and Risk team to evaluate how project opportunities fit within Enerflex's broader vision and strategy and to help the company develop new strategies in existing business lines as well as for future Energy Transition market opportunities.
This position can be based in either Calgary, Alberta or Houston, Texas.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist with the structuring, financial analysis, modeling, due diligence and execution of project development investment opportunities globally.
- Help coordinate input from corporate finance, risk management, sales/commercial, technical/operations, and treasury management functions as part of a deal team.
- Develop financial models in Excel and assist the management team and Board of Directors in preparing risk committee presentations and other analysis for executive management.
- Assist with the management of the corporate finance model.
- Contribute to budget and long-term forecasting processes.
- Contribute to portfolio monitoring and investment return / performance analyses.
- Monitor macro / industry themes to develop ad hoc reports and analysis for executive leadership.
- Work closely with functional leaders within Enerflex's regional teams.
- Assist in identifying financial and cost targets for purposes of setting enterprise performance targets.
- Assist in reporting to the Board of Directors and Executive Management Team.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of industry and competitive landscapes, identifying key industry trends impacting the business and opportunities for growth.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
- A CFA, MBA and/or CPA designation considered an asset.
- 10+ years of relevant work and transaction experience within an investment bank, private equity or mezzanine investment fund, or corporate finance/development team.
- Excellent Excel financial modeling and PowerPoint skills. Experience with Bloomberg would be an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to synthesize and clearly communicate complicated analyses.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written), and able to interact across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with Energy assets in an M&A advisory, project development/finance or corporate finance/development capacity. Experience underwriting and executing asset deals.
- Experience working on complex projects-ideally involving multidisciplinary, global teams.
- Fluent in English. Fluency in additional languages spoken in regions where Enerflex conducts business are an asset.
