Since 1923, caring for our customers has launched us as a grocer of choice in the communities that we serve. What will I do as a Category Manager at The GIANT Company? The Category Manager owns merchandising, pricing, display plans, promotional planning, supplier relationships, negotiating deals/funding and team development. They are responsible for strategically leading and directing the category to maximize sales growth, profitability and market share, as well as developing and nurturing strategic vendor alliances required to identify synergies, promote mutual growth, maximize resources, ensure consumer focus, and capitalize on market opportunities. The Category Manager will collaborate and work across other departments and across other Brands, with various functions, to effectively drive and execute business initiatives and exemplify inspirational leadership and executive maturity that demonstrates and instills a positive, creative, and productive work environment supporting individual growth. Develop long-term departmental business plan strategies, roadmaps, merchandising and action plans to assist the stores and Field Support Teams in the execution of category plans and to achieve profitable growth in the portfolio Create goals that achieve financial objectives and support the strategic visions of the department and organization Oversee the desk's daily and weekly functions to ensure functions are completed accurately and on time while understanding department financials and the portfolio's contribution Work with Store Operations teams to align labor and shrink models to ensure proper Divisional execution Direct the creation and execution of procurement, replenishment, and inventory management strategies Conduct regular store and PDC visits, meetings with suppliers and distribution partners; give direction to stores and field merchandising to best understand and respond to needs/opportunities Provide cross-functional support and represent Merchandising as needed by the business Institute methods and processes to constantly improve customer perceptions and manage strategies to consumer insights for quality and image Partner and provided strategic guidance to the private brand and healthy sales development strategy What do we expect you to bring to the table? Hybrid Remote: This position is based out of Carlisle, Pa. and will require 3 days a week in the office. Reporting: The Category Manager reports into the Category Director within the Merchandising Team.
