We're seeking an earlycareer Database Administrator to join our dynamic, closeknit team. In this role, you'll collaborate with highly supportive teammates who consistently achieve big results by working closely together. You'll support key Symitar products, troubleshoot a variety of databaserelated support issues, and deliver managed DBA services for a range of clients.

This is a remote position, and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Allen, TX; Lenexa, KS; Springfield, MO; or Monett, MO; Louisville, KY; Charlotte, NC; Birmingham, AL; Cedar Falls, IA..

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Maintains database environments; applies updates for all environments.
  • Assists in the maintenance and management of database reporting infrastructure.
  • Works closely with developers, support and QA teams to maintain all DB environments.
  • Performs database administration activities including; installation, configuration, monitoring, space management, database backup and recovery and disaster recovery.
  • Performs database server upgrades.
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

  • Minimum of 18 months of experience writing queries and understanding query structure, gained through professional or educational work.
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call rotation that is 2 weeks long every 6 weeks.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills when working with clients.

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Experience installing, configuring, and supporting environments within Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Hands-on experience using PowerShell for automation or administrative tasks.
  • General knowledge of database administration.
  • General working knowledge of database software and operating systems.
  • General organizational and time management skills.
