Position Summary: Responsible for collaborating with leadership team in the implementation of a selling organization culture with a consumer-centric focus through Merchandising responsibilities. Responsible for leading the implementation and communication of department programs that support Hannaford's overall go to market strategies. Contributes to the planning and development of merchandising objectives. Work in collaboration with Category and Pricing peers in support of Sales Development, Supplier Relations, Net Contribution Management, and the Development and Execution of Banner Merchandising Strategy. Collaborate with Retail on training and communication of merchandising strategy/ programs, DSD vendor relationship, achieving financial targets, VOR escalation process. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: > Provide day to day direction and support for implementation and support of Merchandising strategies and initiatives. > Responsible for the leading the planning and implementation of programs, initiatives and tactics in collaboration with Merchandising and Category that deliver on banner strategy. > Coordinate communications associated with Merchandising strategies, programs and weekly merchandising notes. > Responsible for overseeing DSD escalation process for relevant DSD concerns regarding product or service. > Development of new store prototype, fixture planning, store remodels and space allocation by category via print review process. > Provide guidance to Field Specialist team and ensure they are acting effectively as the regional resource for merchandising programs, initiatives and standard practices. > Lead efforts that cross multiple categories and/or departments within Merchandising to achieve organizational objectives. > Maintain effective communication with Retail Operations to ensure awareness and appropriate understanding of strategy, programs, initiatives and standard practices. > Responsible for layout and fixture plan development & approvals (works with Shelf / Engineering). > Lead and coordinate merchandising related activities and communication associated with remodels, new stores, store closings, etc. > Facilitates cap-ex request for related projects. > Act as the liaison between Field Merchandising Specialists on intake for Retail project requests. > Performance reporting related to projects. > Provide regular retail visits to monitor implementation of department programs, gather insights into customer's shopping experience and opportunities to improve this experience. > Monitor industry and regional competitor trends in product, equipment and systems and merchandising applications/programs and make recommendations on which to incorporate into strategy. > Support retail in achieving financial metrics as it pertains to Meat/Seafood (VFA, inventory targets). > Provide support for motivating peers and function as an effective promoter of change and growth. > Provide support for the implementation of a continuous improvement culture. > Serve as a member of key teams and committees as needed. > Responsible for the development, talent planning and performance management of self. Qualifications and Experience: > Minimum of 5 to 8 years combined experience in retail, merchandising, category, pricing, logistics, supply chain, procurement, and distribution including: - Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager experience - Produce, HMS/Deli, Bakery require 3+ years within one of the respective disciplines - Meat/Seafood requires 3+ years within the Meat discipline > Solid knowledge of Center Store and Fresh Categories > Thorough understanding of Standard Practices and Merchandising technique > Mature level of knowledge for company, business and industry practices > Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of Programs > Ability to work a flexible schedule dictated by our business needs. > Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience. > Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) preferred The Salary Range for this Position is $75,040 - $112,560 The statements contained herein reflect general details as necessary to describe the principal functions for this job, the level of knowledge and skill typically required, and the scope of responsibility, but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements.
