Summary
Perform various technical, clerical, and patient care duties that support the function of the cytopathology laboratory.

Essential Functions
Catalogs cytology specimens into the logging system.
Processes and prepares cytology specimens for technical evaluation.
Operates laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, stainers, and processors.
Maintains inventory and orders laboratory supplies.
Assists other lab associates in performing various lab duties.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Biology preferred or Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Experience
Lab experience specifically in cytology or related areas such as general lab 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good understanding of biology, chemistry and math.
- Knowledge of histochemical reagents, solutions, equipment operation and maintenance.
- Manual dexterity and ability to work with small delicate specimens.
- Organized, alert and detail-oriented.
- High degree of integrity, reliability and efficiency.
