Position Summary:
The Executive Director of Marketing and Brand plays an integral role in the development and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns that grow and strengthen NJIT's brand, support undergraduate recruitment, and strengthen engagement with alumni and supporters. The Executive Director of Marketing and Brand monitors and assesses marketing strategies and tactics, best practices in the field of marketing, and the rapidly evolving capabilities of marketing technology platforms to ensure that NJIT's marketing efforts have maximum impact and efficiency.

The Executive Director of Marketing and Brand manages the university's marketing budget as well as a team of professionals responsible for conceiving and implementing marketing campaigns across a broad array of communications channels that target specific audiences and drive them toward desired actions. In doing so, the Executive Director of Marketing and Brand makes recommendations for how to most effectively deploy NJIT's marketing resources and reports on the results of campaigns. The Executive Director of Marketing and Brand additionally is responsible for vendor relations, from onboarding through delivery and contract fulfillment.

The Executive Director of Marketing and Brand also works with colleagues across the university and will serve as chair of the NJIT Brand Council, which will be
composed of communications and marketing staff members from within University Advancement as well as representatives from units across the university that engage in marketing activities. As chair of this council, the Executive Director of Marketing and Brand will lead regularly scheduled meetings that facilitate the sharing of marketing assets and provide a forum for the collaborative review of all campaigns and materials generated by individual units or external vendors to ensure alignment with NJIT's brand guidelines and standards.

Essential Functions:
-Develop and execute strategic and integrated multi-channel advertising and marketing campaigns to achieve specific organizational objectives.
-Create and implement marketing strategies and materials to enhance institutional brand awareness and strength, support student recruitment, foster donor relations, and promote fundraising and campus activities.
-Manage NJIT's marketing budget and a team of marketing professionals.
-Monitor and assess marketing strategies, tactics, technologies, best practices, and the competitive landscape within which NJIT resides.
-Lead the NJIT Brand Council.
-Regularly compile and analyze performance data to develop metrics that support decision-making for both resource allocation and strategy/tactic selection.
-Set priorities, manage staff, and control expenditures to achieve identified goals and drive organizational success.
-Manage vendor relationships.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field.
-Minimum of seven years related experience, including at least three in a supervisory capacity.
-Ability to lead and motivate a team within a high-pressure environment.
-Evidence of data-informed decision-making.
-Advanced knowledge in organization, planning skills, and management of creative processes and marketing campaigns deployed through multiple channels and mediums.
-Deep and current understanding of marketing outlets, channels, tools, and technologies.
-Experience conceiving and leading multi-channel marketing campaigns that have achieved measurable success.
-Budget planning and management experience.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Demonstrated customer-oriented and service-centered mindset.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Master's degree in related field.
-Familiarity with higher education marketing.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the annual salary range for this position is $81,359.00-$135,303.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
