Manages the operations of the Cardiac Transition Unit in the provision of nursing care to patients and their families. A transformational leader that directs the activities of patient care and support staff.
The Cardiac Transition Unit (CTU) provides pre- and post-procedural care for adult and pediatric patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and electrophysiology procedures.
The CTU is open twenty-four hours beginning 06:30 Monday and closing Saturday morning once all patients are discharged or admitted to an inpatient nursing unit as indicated. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program, Master's degree in related field within 5 years of hire. Experience: At least 3 years of progressively more responsible experience as a registered nurse in a patient care environment required. For Dialysis Nurse Manager: As required by job be a full-time employee of the facility; have at least 12 months of experience in clinical nursing, and an additional 6 months of experience in providing nursing care to patients on maintenance dialysis. Licensure: License to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Valid Virginia Driver's license required for managers with responsibility operations in multiple locations. Must have applicable specialty certification at hire or within 3 years . PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. The starting base rate for this role is $110,697.60 annually.
