Salary Range: $19.50-$21.00

Responsibilities

We are seeking an exceptional Medical Office Receptionist to join our team. This role is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, requiring outstanding customer service skills and high emotional intelligence to support our patients.
  • Greet patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.
  • Obtain all appropriate forms as required.
  • Obtain demographic and insurance information. Obtain copy of patient's insurance cards and current driver's license for file.
  • Update demographic and insurance information as needed in the system.
  • Register all new patients into the system.
  • Notify nursing staff of patient arrivals, placing charts in appointment order.
  • Assist in preparing charts for next day's appointments and prints schedules as needed.
  • Collect co-pays, deductible and other out of pocket amounts at time of visit. Issues receipts if necessary.
  • Distribute condolence cards to patients families as requested.
  • Maintain lobby area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Identify no shows and forwards for patient notification.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
  • Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
  • Cover for other front office functions as requested

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum two year's office experience. Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Proficiency with computer systems a requirement. Microsoft (Outlook, Word, and Excel) a plus.

  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Employee is required to be present at the employee site during regularly scheduled business hours and regularly required to sit or stand and talk or hear. Requires manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination for computer work. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range for telephone contacts.
