POSITION DESCRIPTION The Waste Coordinator at SET Environmental is responsible to: Coordinate with onsite contract Waste Technicians via phone, email, and in meetings to ensure day-to-day tasks are completed Ensure that waste is properly characterized and labeled Review of hazardous waste manifests and other shipping documents with confirmation that waste items are shipped to the appropriate offsite disposal facilities Ensure the loads are acceptable per DOT regulations and requirements Track wastes once it leaves the site up until the return manifest copy is received Manage waste sampling activities and lab communication regarding sample pick up and tracking of results as needed Receive and decipher analytical results and waste characterization Create profiles for contact final review and signing before submittal Other miscellaneous projects as necessary POSITION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in environmental studies or related field (preferred) Must have 2+ years of practical field experience including hazardous waste handling, lab packing, chemical consolidation, manifesting Competent computer skills, including MS Office Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven self-starter and highly motivated Obtain and keep current all certifications/licenses required (i.e. 40-hour HAZWOPER training, forklift certification, medical certification including respirator use) Must have knowledge of RCRA Waste Management, TCEQ, and DOT regulations 40 Hour HAZWOPER Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
