As a Facilities Engineer you will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, implementing, testing, troubleshooting and support for industrial facility systems, process equipment, machinery, and engine test systems for an industry-leading Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul organization for gas turbine engines and components. '

What you will do:

  • Design and implement various facilities initiatives with consideration to industrial ventilation, dust collection, cooling towers and heat exchangers, pumping and piping systems, chemical processes, waste water, HVAC, area layouts, building envelope & grounds, and energy-savings improvements
  • Coordinate resources and drive timelines for construction and site implementation projects
  • Obtain professional drawings and approvals when required through consulting services
  • Provides technical and financial data for preparation of project justification and cost benefit analysis.
  • Organizes and provides input into engineering projects and required resources (staff and financial), according to department and project requirements.
  • Develops proposals and cost estimates; estimates project needs including equipment, materials and personnel; schedules work to meet completion dates and technical specifications; ensures facilities are in compliance with federal, municipal and provincial electrical, fire, building, health and safety codes.
  • Assist with establishing and overseeing of various trades and contractors for performing facilities and maintenance work
  • Execute projects small and large as the Project Manager, working individually or part of a larger team, with a large variety of concurrent tasks and projects
  • Monitors all work in progress to ensure that quality and engineering standards are met and that designs are effective through the entire process; approves changes to designs or schedules as necessary. Produces periodic project status reports comparing actual to forecasted timeline.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, facility, and engine test systems to provide technical support and coordination for the Maintenance Team
  • Establish preventative and predictive maintenance opportunities for facility systems and industrial equipment
  • Provide written and verbal feedback to internal customers requiring facilities engineering support for new and existing systems
  • Prepare written specifications and assist with the contract process for outsourced design/build facilities work
  • Prepare written acceptance testing documents and provide sign-off to assist with the commissioning process for new or modified facility systems within the workplace
  • Identify and develop projects to support Continuous Improvement for various energy and operational savings initiatives
  • Provide technical training, support, and mentoring to team members
  • Provide remote or call-in support for critical after-hours facility and maintenance issues
  • Have a high tolerance for a fast paced, changing environment with frequent new, unfamiliar problems
  • Support and align with StandardAero's Greener MRO and Energy Sustainable Initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years work experience in an industrial or construction environment.
  • 3 years experience owning multiple projects and applying Project Management principals
  • 3 years experience interpreting & reviewing technical drawings, coordinating various trades and contractors
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong understanding of industrial processes, building systems, and shop equipment
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, decision making, oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of federal/state/municipality fire, building, plumbing and electrical codes
  • University degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace experience preferred

  • PMP preferred

  • Working knowledge of gas turbine engines preferred
