As an Engineering Intern, your primary responsibility will be to assist staff engineers and geologists in evaluating the effects of mining operations on water resources. You will be involved in collecting and organizing hydrological and engineering data, which will support the analytical efforts of the engineering and geological teams. This position may require travel throughout eastern Pennsylvania, providing you with the opportunity to encounter various environmental issues. Furthermore, you will play a role in assessing permitted mine sites and, when necessary, aid in site investigations and research related to mine history for the Bureau of District Mining Operations.

• Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2026 through 8/28/2026
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on a schedule that aligns with the supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pottsville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS
Internship Requirements:

• Enrollment in good academic standing as a FULL-TIME student in a bachelor's, or advanced degree program in:
  • Mining Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
• An approved major course at an accredited college or university.
• Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
• Freshman year completed by May 2026
• Pennsylvania residency or enrollment of a Pennsylvania college or university.

Additional Requirements:

• You must possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
