Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Intern (College)

As a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Intern, you will engage in a structured training program designed to cultivate and sustain referral sources, ensuring the identification of potential customers for vocational rehabilitation services. Your work will involve evaluating customer needs and coordinating the delivery of necessary services. Through individualized consultations, you will collaborate with customers to develop personalized goals and actions plans aimed at achieving successful vocational outcomes. You will also have opportunities to provide direct counseling and guidance, as well as offer comprehensive support in securing meaningful employment through job placement assistance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• This position reports to the Allentown District Office at 45 North 4th Street, Allentown, PA. However, the headquarters location may be flexible depending on the selected candidate.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time upon successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:

• Current enrollment in the final year of a master's degree program in vocational rehabilitation counseling, rehabilitation education, or rehabilitation administration.

• Authorization by the college or university for the student to participate in the Commonwealth's Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Intern Program. Upon entering the internship, the student must be enrolled in the final semester of the appropriate master's degree program.
  

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
