These roles are responsible for conducting experiments and analyses in laboratory settings to investigate scientific questions in fields like biology, chemistry, and physics. Laboratory researchers design and execute experiments, collect data, and collaborate with scientists to advance understanding of fundamental and applied research.
The Department of Neurology is searching for a Lab and Research Technician to support the lab of Francesco Michelassi, MD, PhD. The lab and research technicianwill assist in characterizing mouse models of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. The selected candidate will perform behavioral testing, drug administration (tail vein injection, oral gavage, intraperitoneal injection, etc), tissue dissection, routine genotyping and crosses, immunohistochemistry and primary cell culture.Providing routine, technical, and administrative support for research projects is expected. The successfulcandidatewill have a strong interest in translationalresearch within neurology, with prior experience in experimental design, data assessment/interpretation,scientific presentation, and scholarly writing. Physical Demands This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring finer finger manipulation. Position Type & Work Location
