The Equal Employment Opportunity & Access office (
EEOA) provides consultative services to assist staff with situations that involve allegations of unfair treatment, discrimination and harassment, as well as disability and religious accommodations.

Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President,
EEO and Employee Relations, this position carries out the university's
EEO Programs in compliance with applicable federal and local law as well as management's directives.
Responsibilities Include:
The
EEO Investigator will conduct inquiries into general and discrimination claims raised in
EEO complaints. The investigator must serve as an unbiased fact gatherer, identifying and securing information through interviewing witnesses, as well as the collection and review of written records. The investigator will research, review and become familiar with applicable policies and procedures. The investigator must be able to independently develop an investigative plan to include determination of individuals to be interviewed, appropriate questions for interviewees, and documents to be reviewed. The investigator will assist in the preparation of position statements in response to external charges of discrimination filed with government agencies. The investigator must use direction, display sound judgement and ensure confidentiality in handling case matters. The investigator will create and maintain accurate, detailed records for interviews. The investigator will prepare objective comprehensive reports that integrate and analyze information gathered during an investigation. The investigator will be responsible for organizing and updating
EEO files.
Additional Responsibilities may include conducting training and assisting in the development of general training materials with regards to Human Resource Management and Development (
HRMD) policies, procedures and documentation/forms related to Equal Employment Opportunity (
EEO) for the university. Also responsible for investigations and resolving both routine and non-routine grievances and is responsible for coordinating University policies and procedures relating to persons with disabilities, and providing consultative services to employing units and offices.
