Job Details:
The Mercer University School of Law is searching for an Associate Director of Advocacy on the Macon, Georgia campus.

Responsibilities:

The Associate Director of Advocacy supports the advocacy program to ensure valuable learning experiences that enhance the Law School's national reputation for excellence in training practice-ready lawyers and provide support for the undergraduate mock trial program. This position includes serving as a coach for student competition teams at the law school and the undergraduate, developing training sessions at the law school and the undergraduate, and teaching courses related to advocacy at the law school. The Associate Director reports directly to the Assistant Dean of Advocacy.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and current bar license in the United States. Additionally, candidates must have at least one year of demonstrated experience in the practice of law, especially trial-level litigation.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Familiarity with the advocacy communities (both law school and undergraduate) nationwide;
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication, marketing, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, assessment, and administrative skills;
  • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and discretion;
  • Demonstrate a willingness to implement innovative, student-orientated programs and services;
  • Success working closely and collaboratively with student body, faculty, staff, and alumni.
