Managerial DSV - Global transport and logistics Location: Sterling, VA Division:Road Summary At DSV Road Transport, The Supervisor, VAD operationswill oversee Monday-Friday field operations, dispatch functions, and driver management for the assignedregion. This role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient freight movement across local and regional lanes while maintaining strong customer service and operational accuracy. The Supervisor coordinates dispatch activities, supports drivers, collaborates with safety and maintenance teams, and acts as the site lead in the Manager's absence. This position plays a key role in delivering consistent operational performance over weekend-heavy periods. Duties and Responsibilities

Physical Demands The physical demands of this position require the ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, and move throughout office, terminal, and yard environments. The role frequently involves the use of hands and fingers to operate computers, phones, radios, and other dispatch or office equipment, as well as sustained visual attention to screens, reports, and monitoring systems. The Supervisor must be able to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and via radio, including in moderately noisy environments. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or reaching may be required to access files, equipment, or vehicles. The role may also require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of items weighing up to 25 pounds. The ability to respond quickly to operational issues, safety concerns, or emergencies is essential. Work Environment This role is performed in a combination of office, dispatch center, terminal, and active yard environments within a fast-paced, deadline-driven operational setting. The position regularly involves working in and around moving trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and active loading or staging areas, requiring strong situational awareness and adherence to safety protocols. The work environment includes frequent interaction with drivers, dispatchers, customers, and cross-functional teams and may involve moderate noise levels due to vehicle traffic, radios, and ongoing operational activity. The role may require exposure to varying weather conditions when working in or around yard or dock areas. Flexibility is required to support operations during non-standard hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekend transition periods, or as business needs dictate. Occasional travel to local terminals or customer locations may be required. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described above represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. For this position, the expected base pay range is $62,400- $80,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
