Position Details:

  • Location: 133 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215
  • Department: Laboratory
  • Schedule: Full time, 40 hours/weekly, Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, Rotating Weekends and Holidays

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, the Andrology Tech Specialist performs semen analysis including semen morphology and specimen preparation for intrauterine insemination procedures, exercising independent judgment when evaluating the validity of test results prior to result reporting.
    Provides data for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease
  • Operates and calibrates all equipment in the area of specialization, writes and evaluates procedures and protocols, trains new and current staff, evaluates the validity of laboratory data, records tests results, communicates with physicians, pathologists and nursing staff regarding test procedures and results
  • As a specialist, performs the duties of a Medical Technologist II which include conducting competency assessments and responsibility for College of American Pathologist (CAP) Survey Attestations
  • In addition, conducts specialized testing in area of expertise (e.g., Andrology) and will function as a team lead for other Medical Technologists at other Atrius locations

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a chemical, physical, clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • Must meet the required qualifications for being an individual responsible for competency assessment and have the education and experience
    to evaluate the complexity of testing being assessed as defined by CAP (College of American Pathologist)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Technologist (ASCP) certification
  • Specialty certification
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • 5+ years of laboratory experience
  • Proven excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex clinical and instrument problems
  • Proven accurate, reliable, and able to work well under pressure and to finish a task once started
  • Proven solid communication skills, both in writing and speaking

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $58,800 to $105,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
