We are proud and excited to offer summer internships for 2026 across several of our different office locations and are currently seeking an Internal Communications Intern to join our team in Seattle, WA.

Our B.L.U.E. (Build, Learn, Understand, Enrich) Summer Internship Program is purposefully designed to inspire your imagination and help you guide your career with purpose. You'll be an integral part of McKinstry with hands-on experience, mentorship and a healthy dose of fun. Our program delivers depth and real experience so that you can truly evaluate potential career paths within the work we do.

What we look for in our Internal Communication Interns:

  • Pursuing a Marketing or Communications degree or related field required.

  • Availability in Summer 2026 (May/June start until August/September, depending on school); part-time availability after Summer preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Adaptabiity and ability to adjust to changing priorities, new technologies, and various communication platforms.

  • Initiative and creativity to propose new ideas, suggest improvements, and develop engaging content for internal audiences.

    • Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and possess excellent follow-up skills.

    • Must be self-motivated, able to multitask, and work independently.

    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.

    • Must be 18 years of age or older

      What are our Internal Communications Interns responsible for:

    • Assists with the development and deployment of communication plans created to drive business outcomes.

    • Create compelling storytelling aligned with content strategy, focused on remarkable projects, people, and viewpoints aligned with our values and Action for Impact 2030 plan.

    • Write, proofread, and edit copy for Bluenet, the corporate intranet, including feature stories and Viva Engage posts and video projects.

      • Use a wide range of visual media (from graphic design to video) to develop diverse communication.

      • May assist in the coordination of social media activities.

      • Other duties as assigned

    The hourly rate for this role is $22/hr.
