Overview

This position will focus on the management and growth of TRC's Site Civil Engineering team within our growing Geo-Environmental Engineering team. This position will primarily include roles as senior project lead, business staff supervisor.


Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic to work with engineers, hydrogeologists, project managers, and other technical staff in the preparation of permits, designs, and construction documentation of technical documents associated with civil engineering services for our clients.

  • Develop staff, including goal setting, performance evaluations, mentoring, and recruiting.
  • Supervise a team of professionals
  • Plan and control work process, including the following:
    • Manage resources to meet utilization objectives.
    • Lead process improvement initiatives.
    • Ensure quality control procedures are implemented.
    • Mentor and monitor standard operating procedures.
    • Implement safety protocols.
  • Team with upper management to develop strategy and tactics to grow the practice and support the environmental national practice.
  • Manage projects, including financial management, contract negotiation, directing technical work, and client and regulatory liaison.
  • Stay abreast with current technology and inspire innovation among team members.
  • Perform as a technical resource in field of expertise and mentor to others.
  • Achieve a direct labor utilization of at least 50%.

Qualifications

  • 4 or more years' experience as a Civil Engineer in consulting.
  • Valid Professional Engineers licensure or ability to become registered within 1 year.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to embrace change
  • Ability to manage conflict with staff and clients
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Consistent ownership and follow through to manage assigned tasks
  • Strong writing abilities, along with good oral communication and presentation skills
  • Confidence and professionalism to challenge management on areas of business concern and accept/support decisions to move TRC positively forward
  • Experience working with permitting and design of renewable energy and/or solid waste management facilities are desired.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
