Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for the Center Advancing Research and Evaluation for Person-Centered Care at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Associate will work as part of a collaborative team on a project that is implementing and evaluating a health system intervention to improve chronic disease management for cancers survivors receiving cancer treatment. The Postdoctoral Associate will participate in the clinical trial conduct and process evaluation (e.g., conduct stakeholder interviews, code interview transcripts, archival review) and supporting
RCT implementation. Opportunities for professional development include experiences in implementing a multi-level
RCT in a health system environment, collecting qualitative data, participating in ongoing data analysis, and manuscript preparation under the supervision of the Lead Principal Investigator and
CARE-PC Director.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Collects qualitative data in primary care practice sites located locally and throughout the U.S. Maintains research records for assigned evaluation activities (practice staff consent forms, field notes, and other source documentation) for all enrolled participants. Transfers all pertinent research data to assigned study staff.
- Communicates effectively with practice site staff and research staff. Assists in the implementation of a multi-level intervention for a large scale, health system research study that spans cancer and primary care. Provides input on study design and develops analytic plans.
- Works with staff, faculty, and consultants to assess, evaluate, and disseminate the results from the study, participates in manuscript development.
- Conducts literature reviews, including critical assessment of relevant papers as requested. Prepares and presents abstracts and papers at national scientific meetings and for peer-reviewed publications.
- Assists in applications to the institutional review board (IRB). Prepares data for timely completion of all requirements of grant reporting including correspondence, progress reports, program evaluations, and other related reports.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Ph.D. or equivalent in Public Health, Psychology (health, social), Sociology, Anthropology or a related field required.

- Record of publications as well as excellent writing skills are strongly preferred.

| Physical Demands and Work Environment |
- Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements. Must be able to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
- Work Environment: Office or in medical offices throughout New Jersey and the U.S. Clinical settings include potential exposure to blood, excrement, antineoplastic drugs, and exposure to infectious and communicable diseases. Proper precautions will be taught and are mandatory. Must be able to provide own transportation to practice/meeting sites as necessary (mileage, parking, tolls reimbursed).
