Summary of Job:

The Director of Clinical Education provides strategic leadership and oversight for all clinical training and educational programs within the hospital. This role ensures that staff, students, and residents receive high-quality, evidence-based instruction that promotes patient safety, professional development, and organizational excellence.


Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and oversee training, onboarding, and continuing education programs for nurses and other clinical staff, ensuring alignment with hospital goals and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to identify educational gaps, prioritize training needs, and mentor educators, preceptors, and staff to foster continuous learning.
  • Manage clinical rotations for students (e.g., nursing, physician assistant), coordinating with academic partners to ensure compliance with educational standards.
  • Serve as liaison with schools for recruitment and act as a strategic advisor on clinical education initiatives. As well as Skilled at fostering collaborations with universities, professional organizations, and community stakeholders.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness, monitor staff competency, and develop remediation plans for underperformance.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Education, or a related clinical field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years in clinical practice and at least 5 years in leadership or education roles.
  • Current professional license in a healthcare discipline (RN, PT, etc.) as required.
  • Strong communication, presentation, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, ANA Standards on Staff Development, and adult learning principles.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem analysis, program development, conflict resolution, and oral/written presentations.
  • Certifications required: BLSI, ACLSI, PALSI, and PEARSI.
