Overview

REGISTERED NURSE WOUND CARE

We are seeking a Wound Care RN, which is also referred to as a Wound Care, Ostomy, or Continence Nurse (WOC). The Wound Care RN will specialize in assessing and treating skin breakdown and wounds in a clinic setting. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will also be consulted during a patients stay in a hospital for a wound or pressure injury, we are also consulted for ostomy care. The Wound Care RN will also be responsible for determining the proper course of treatment and interacting with services in the community to continually care for the wound care patient.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse provides direct care in the outpatient wound care clinic as well as evaluating inpatient wounds. Communicate with physicians / charge nurse / co * workers, as appropriate regarding changes in the patient*s treatment, clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies. Has the ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.



Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  1. Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.
  2. BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  3. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
  4. Previous Wound care knowledge and or experience preferred (1 Year).
  5. Wound Care Certification within first year of hire
  6. Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) Certification preferred
