Inova Epic Training is looking for a dedicated Epic Principal Trainer - Willow/Beacon to join the Team. This hybrid role will be full-time day shift working Monday - Friday.

The Epic Principal Trainer - ClinDoc/Stork is responsible for training hospital team members in the Epic healthcare record system. Develops and maintains curriculum and training materials throughout implementation, computer system upgrades and optimization. Assists end-users in developing/using best practices and optimization goals to ensure the system is providing the desired level of patient care. Designs, develops and maintains the Epic training environment, training materials and methods for clinical and non-clinical end users in Epic and supporting applications.

Epic Principal Trainer - Willow/Beacon Responsibilities:



  • Designs, develops and maintains the Epic training environment.
  • Collaborates with training team members, Epic build analysts and other application analysts to ensure the training curriculum and training environments (e.g. MST) are updated to reflect current design decisions, build and clinical workflows.
  • Assists with e-learning and creates other avenues for end-user education. Maintains all relevant policy and procedure documentation.
  • Develops credentialed training team members while supporting and administering credentialed training programs.
  • Coordinates schedules and training with the scheduling team and training department leadership.
  • Diagnoses complex application issues and recommends remedial actions/training to correct problems using comprehensive application knowledge.
  • Reviews new application enhancements/upgrades and assists in the development of implementation plans.
  • Completes project as defined by the project plan and monitors/communicates impact of project to training team.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree; or Associate's degree and 2 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required; or HS Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required
  • Experience: 5 years of education experience or healthcare related field and 2 years in training development
  • Certification: Epic application certification within 6 months of hire
  • Licensure: Valid state driver's license and own transportation required


Preferred Qualifications:



  • At least one Epic Certification in either Willow or Beacon preferred.
  • Previous clinical experience preferred.
