About This Role

The Institute for Radiation Health Studies at Kansas State University (KSU) is seeking a research fellow to serve as the group's Radiation Biology Discipline Lead Scientist. Position responsibilities include fostering collaborations with researchers across campus conducting radiation health-related studies, substantial laboratory work to develop preliminary data for grant proposals, and grant proposal writing.

Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • PhD in radiation biology or closely related field
  • The degree requirement is necessary to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Extensive experience conducting radiation biology experiments, including imaging and quantification
  • Experience in grant grant proposals
  • Experience in mathematics and statistics to conduct model fits to data and interpret results
  • Experience leading winning grant proposals
  • Advanced knowledge of radiation dosimetry
  • Experience conducting experiments with neutron sources


Additional Role Information:



  • Successful applicant must be willing and able to travel for conference and workshop participation on a regular basis.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
