About This Role

The Kansas FFA Association is seeking an energetic and highly organized Event Coordinator who is passionate about creating meaningful experiences that inspire and engage the next generation of agricultural leaders. This role is central to the success of the Kansas State FFA Convention and other statewide events, where members, advisors, alumni, and supporters come together to celebrate achievement, build community, and showcase leadership.

The Event Coordinator provides essential support and leadership in planning and executing high-impact events that highlight the FFA mission. This includes developing event programming, managing logistics, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring a professional, inspiring atmosphere at gatherings. The position requires creativity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with staff, partners, and members.

Beyond logistics, this role is about enhancing the FFA experience-from convention sessions and leadership workshops to recognition ceremonies and leadership events. The Event Coordinator will also contribute to communication efforts, including developing event materials, coordinating social media content related to FFA activities, and engaging with members, families, and stakeholders to build excitement and participation.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Lead full-cycle planning and coordination for the annual Kansas FFA State Convention.
  • Manage event logistics including venue setup, schedules, programming, and technical needs.
  • Coordinate vendor contracts, volunteer assignments, and partner participation.
  • Ensure event design and execution reflect FFA's mission, values, and brand standards.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Plan and implement additional statewide events such as leadership conferences, workshops, and recognition ceremonies.
  • Oversee registration processes, participant communications, and event materials.
  • Coordinate logistical details such as facilities, equipment, catering, and transportation.
  • Support the consistency and quality of all FFA events across the state.
  • Develop and monitor event budgets, applying cost analysis and resource management principles.
  • Procure and coordinate services with vendors for catering, A/V, printing, and facilities.
  • Track expenditures and assist with financial reporting and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with university purchasing and fiscal policies.
  • Serve as a liaison among university departments, sponsors, advisors, volunteers, and external partners.
  • Communicate event plans, expectations, and updates effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Foster positive relationships to enhance collaboration and support event success.
  • Represent Kansas FFA in a professional and mission-driven manner.
  • Assist in developing event-related communications, promotional materials, and signage.
  • Coordinate social media content related to FFA events to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Collaborate with communications staff to ensure brand consistency across all materials.

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Requires a bachelor's degree. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 3-5 years of experience in event planning, preferably in youth, educational, or nonprofit environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience developing and managing engaging social media content.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on supporting the needs of FFA members and advisors.
  • Demonstrate commitment to fostering a collaborative, mission-driven environment within the Kansas FFA Association.
